Jaguars, a new restaurant and nightclub, will open its doors in  Brooklyn during the early part of 2011 and  in an attempt to replicate the Las Vegas dining experience.
“The concept is a restaurant inside the nightclub,” said Vincent Faraci, who has signed a 15-year lease for 20,000 square feet, including a 4,000-square-foot outdoor area, at 225 47th St. Mr. Faraci, who used to run clubs in Las Vegas, most recently the gentlemen’s club Crazy Horse Too, added that “in some of the best restaurants in Vegas there’s loud music.”
Work on the space, which was previously occupied by Platinum Café & Billiards, started about six weeks ago and is nearly complete. The décor will focus on a jungle theme with palm trees, animals and birds of paradise. Set on a raised platform only feet away from the dance floor, the restaurant will be serving Italian food from 5 p.m. until 3 a.m.
Mr. Faraci grew up in Brooklyn and noted that the borough mostly offers small bars but lacks larger venues. Jaguars will be located in an industrial neighborhood, allowing for plenty of parking space in the vicinity at night. Mr. Faraci said the location is less than 10 minutes away from Battery Tunnel and the Verrazano Bridge. He’s also partnering with a limousine service to offer free rides to customers.
